Where: | Soldiers Delight NEA |
Ever wonder why you can see the stars better in some place than in others? Join Soldiers Delight naturalists as they guide you through the dark skies patch program, part of the Girl Scouts Love State Parks (GSLSP) initiative. This Girl Scout program is designed to educate girls about light pollution and the importance of preserving dark skies. Participants will learn about the causes, effects, and different types of light pollution, and will investigate ways to reduce light pollution in their own communities and homes, such as using timers or changing lightbulb types.
Afterward, enjoy a log fire in Soldiers Delight's historic Red Dog Lodge (behind the Visitor Center). Signup required. This program will be cancelled in the event of rain.
