mineentrancewithtracks.jpg Join Volunteer Ranger and mining historian Johnny Johnsson on a two-mile hike to the historic Choate chromium mine. Learn about mining at Soldiers Delight while using historic methods to pan and buddle chrome sands (similar to panning for gold). A history of mining in Soldiers Delight will be supplemented by demonstration of mining artifacts. This program is a great family program for ages 10 and up; parents are welcome. Those who can only walk a short distance can drive part of the way, park, and then take a short walk over uneven terrain to the Choate Mine entrance where most of the program is conducted. Please call 410-461-5005 or click to sign up. Only offered twice a year! Limited to 25 participants.
