Stargazing Program -- Gravity and Black Holes

When: November 21, 2026
  6:30 pm Saturday
Where: Soldiers Delight NEA
How Much: FREE, Donations Welcome!

Delve into one of the most intriguing and enigmatic phenomena in the universe with Westminster Astronomical Society Inc.: black holes and the force of gravity that governs them. The discussion will explore the formation of black holes, the role of gravity in their behavior, and the profound implications they have for our understanding of the universe. Join WASI members as they journey into the depths of these mysterious entities to uncover the secrets about the nature of gravity and the cosmos.

During the indoor portion of the program, you will learn the constellations and have your questions answered about the galaxy. If the weather is clear, the group will spend time outside once it is dark viewing the cosmos through "time machines" (telescopes) provided by WASI. Feel free to bring your own telescope! WASI will assist with setup and focusing as needed. This program is eligible for the Model B Junior Ranger Program. Signup is encouraged. This program is held rain or shine.
