Join the Westminster Astrological Society (WASI) to discover the mesmerizing diversity of galaxies. Explore how stars ignite our night sky. Gaze upon constellations — the ancient stories etched in star patterns. Marvel at blue giants, red dwarfs, and everything in between. Come connect to the cosmos with WASI at their astronomical lecture!
Rain or shine, during the indoor portion of the program, you will learn the constellations and have your questions answered about the galaxy. If the weather is clear, the group will spend time outside once it is dark viewing the cosmos through "time machines" (telescopes) provided by WASI. Feel free to bring your own telescope! WASI will assist with setup and focusing as needed. Wear sturdy shoes as night hiking is required to get to the viewing field. This program is eligible for the Model B Junior Ranger Program. Signup is encouraged. This program will be held even if raining.
